As a Pain Nurse Specialist additionally trained in Clinical Hypnotherapy, I am delighted to offer hypnotherapy sessions with a difference.
Possessing 22 years of clinical knowledge coupled with my compassion, dedication and understanding of the impact of disease, illness and surgical interventions, I sought to offer something extra for my patients. Pain, Anxiety, Stress or Depression may be experienced as subsequent symptoms which then begin to rule some people’s lives. In a busy society, these concerns are not always addressed, with some people subjected to being quoted, “ There is nothing we can do”.
We are A LIFE and ALIVE…There is always something that can be done if we adopt the right attitude!
For this reason, I trained at University College London (UCL) and qualified in 2007 as a Medical and Dental Clinical Hypnotherapist. As a registered nurse I hold a MSc (with distinction) in Advanced Practice Nursing and I can independently prescribe medication as a registered Non-Medical Prescriber.
My specialist interest is Gut Directed Hypnotherapy and Pain Management which led me to set up the first NHS nurse-led hypnotherapy service within St Mark’s Hospital, Harrow, under the guide of Professor Peter Whorwell, at the South Manchester NHS Trust , who still successfully treats patients since commencing his ‘hypno therapeutic service’ in the early 1980’s. I also maintain links with this leading institution to constantly improve my professional development.
