Know Marie

I studied a BA (Hons) in Adult Nursing at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2003. I have worked continuously since graduating in both NHS and Private healthcare settings and even had the opportunity to use my Nursing skills to work in Australia, during a year of travelling.

I have worked within many specialities of Nursing – Medical, Surgical and High Dependency/Theatre Recovery. Exposure to each speciality enabled me to broaden my knowledge and develop new skills. I now hold a Clinical Nurse Specialist post in a Pain Management Service, in one of the largest teaching hospitals in North West London. I have been in this post since 2011.

My time working in the field of Pain Management has been very insightful as I’m continuously learning. Pain is such a subjective topic and there is no set way to manage it. Pain is not only physical but can present itself in emotional and psychological ways – this was key for me and my interest in finding alternative ways to help patients lead me to training as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.

I undertook a Medical Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy in 2018. My training was through the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy (LCCH International) and I am now a fully registered member with the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH).

I maintain my Professional memberships with both the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the British Society of Hypnosis (BSCH), have DBS clearance and hold Professional Indemnity Insurance.
